For
Loyalty to the Black Sea Cossacks |
|
This
is a rare piece as not too many are handed out to honour "loyal"
Black Sea Cossacks who used to be under the command of Colonel
Kucher. Ataman Kucher was killed in battle in during
the brief but bloody civil war in June 1992 in the town of Bender
(Tighina) in the Republic of Moldova. It is awarded by
Igor Nikolajevich Smirnov, "President" of the self
proclaimed Transdniestrian Moldovan Republic that remains a
separatist territory with all the trappings of a State including
award ceremonies. I am trying to find out how many people received
this medal and for what.
