  The 800th Anniversary of Moscow

The medal "In Memory of the 800th Anniversary of Moscow (Ìåäàëü «Â ïàìÿòü 800-ëåòèÿ Ìîñêâû»; Medal «V pamjat 800-letija Moskvy») commemorates the 800th anniversary of the founding of Moscow (see also the 850th anniversary medal no longer issued by the USSR but Russia). Instituted on 20 September 1947 and awarded to all citizens who participated in the restoration and reconstruction of Moscow with Citizenship of Moscow of five years or more. Also awarded to all surviving holders of the Medal for the Defence of Moscow. Some 1,730,000 were issued.

It is made of brass (latun), depicts Iutij Dolgorukij, with ring as part of the medal.
