15 years Irreproachable Service
in the Armed Forces of the USSR 2nd Class |
|
The medal "For Impeccable Service"
Second class (Ìåäàëü «Çà áåçóïðå÷íóþ ñëóæáó» âòîðîé ñòåïåíè
Medal «Za bezuprechnuju sluzhbu»
vtoroj stepeni) was instituted on 25 January 1958 and was awarded for 15 years of service. It is the second most common of the three (1st class for 20 years was most common and 3rd class for 10 years the most rare as in the first 10 years few were "impeccable" or "faultless" individuals while after twenty years and closer to pension the system was more "tolerant" of them). Irreproachable service medals were issued by the Soviet Armed Forces (most common), but also by the Ministry of interior (also at the republican level), for several years also by the Ministry of public order (MOOP) and by the KGB. All were distinguishable by the text on the reverse side, except the KGB issue that are unattributed.

The 20 years medal is made of silver (left) and is rated R2,
the 15 years (center) is R1 and the 10 years (right) has a
C rating.
