 The
Order of St. Paraskeva is a female decoration for nuns and
civilians (also has a 1st degree and medal) and is the third
highest Moldovan religious distinction. Awarded to those who
contribute to the development the Orthodox religion and is
one of nine religious distinctions (next to Orders of 1st
and 2nd degree and Medal of Order of St. Stefan the Great
and Velichkoevski) that were instituted on 17 July 2003 by
approval by the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The relevant document dated
22 July 2002 is signed by The Moscow Patriarch Mitropolit
Solnechnogorski. This is an unissued sample, made of silver
weighing 38g. The centre emblem is attached by two rivets
and depicts the Saint. While both degrees have green cold
enamel, the 1st degree also has 4 zirkonia stine (2mm diameter)
around the centre. It measures 56mmx40mm and is 4 mm
thick. Seven are known to have been awarded. Made by a Chisinau
jeweler Alexei Cosovan.
