Type 2 Variation 3.3 R2
Red Star

Instituted on 6.4.1930 with some 4 million issued. This is the 1940 type, in excellent condition with a fine patina. It's number 34386 dates it to early 1941 (a so called early Monetny Dvor, screwpost base).  Variation 3 had the mint mark "Monetnij Dvor" in two lines above the screw post (variation 2 had the mint mark "Mondvor"). Sub-variation 1 had the word Monetnij bent upwards in the no. range 11849-17194, sub-variation 2 had the word Monetnij bent downwards in the no. range 19278-21315 and sub-variation 4 had the word Monetnij bent upwards in the no. range 51327-319702). This one is sub-variation 3 that also had the word Monetnij bent upwards but in the higher part of the star in the no. range 28187-44322. rarely there is a type two without the mint mark. It weighs 30.1g and has a silver attachment plate (9.5g).I got it from a collector in Odessa, it is my second lowest Red Star number.
