For
Personal Courage | |
Order "For Personal Courage" (Îðäåí «Çà ëè÷íîå ìóæåñòâî»
Orden «Za lichnoe muzhestvo»). This decoration could be awarded to any USSR citizen showing outstanding courage and bravery during life-saving, keeping of public order and safeguard of State property, as well as for fighting crime, environmental catastrophes and other exceptional events. Instituted on 28 December 1988 shortly before the USSR colapsed so only 529 were awarded.
Documented
award but I have my suspicions on its authencity. A Russian
issued catalogue of badges and awards (Avers 5) warns that
there are many impeccable copies made of silver in circulation
and no further advice is provided how to distinguish fakes
(apparently even experts are dumbfounded). If its a forgery,
then its an excellent one!
