 Orders
of the Great Patriotic War were instituted on 20 May 1942 and
until 16 June 1943 were on a suspension (type 1). Type two existed
from 1943 until 11 March 1985 when on the ocassion of the 40th
anniversary of the victory in the Great patriotic war Type 3
was issued. They were produced in three mints (Krasnokamskij
-KMD, Moscow - MMD and Leningrad - LMD) and the Moscow factory
Platinopribor - MZPP. They came in many variations and sub-variations.
This award is made in the Leningradskij Monetnij Dvor (LMD)
between 1958 and 59 and is in the number range 917212-926613.
Sub-variation 1 was made between 1950-55 with numbers 877526-914014.
It has a line below the serial number and the mint mark is below
the screwpost. Made of silver, weighs 27.8g and has a non-silver
fastening plate (12.1g).
