Type 1 R5
  Order of Glory 2nd class

This Order was instituted on 10 December 1943 (Stalingrad) when numbers 1-67 were awarded. Only order destined for soldiers to rank of soldiers of pilots to rank of lieutenant. Stalin is reputed to have a sy in its naming ("there is no victory without glory"). Until 1974 only individuals were decorated (not units). This is a very rare piece as only 500-600 were issued (Avers 6 states that 1000 exist), the so called "border reverse". The later types were without the "border" (type 2 was 1-1.5mm thick and type 3 was 1.75-2mm thick). Made of silver with still visible gold plating and intact enamel. It shows signs of wear as most Orders of this category do. Notice the right side of the avers which is more worn than the left which is xeplained by the fact that this order was worn on the rightmost side of the chest. The no. 38 is etched in the so called "Greek style" and it weighs 20.9g without the connecting ring (should be 22.02g+/- 1.5g according to Avers 6). Made of silver and in this variation the clock has an empty face (does not show time). Later variations of the 3rd class order showed other time (variation 1 11.52, variation 3 showed 9.05 and variation 4 showed 9.00).
