Orders
of the Great Patriotic War were instituted on 20 May 1942 and
until 16 June 1943 were on a suspension (type 1). Type two existed
from 1943 until 11 March 1985 when on the ocassion of the 40th
anniversary of the victory in the Great patriotic war Type 3
was issued. They were produced in three mints (Krasnokamskij
-KMD, Moscow - MMD and Leningrad - LMD) and the Moscow factory
Platinopribor - MZPP) in many variations and subvariations.
This award is very rare - a duplicate and is identified by
the small stamped number on the reverse (some also had the letter
"D"). Some earlier duplicates were hand engraved.
Made of silver, weighs 28.1g and has an original non silver
attachment ring (13.3g).
