 Orders
of the Great Patriotic War were instituted on 20 May 1942 and
until 16 June 1943 were on a suspension (type 1). Type two existed
from 1943 until 11 March 1985 when on the ocassion of the 40th
anniversary of the victory in the Great patriotic war Type 3
was issued. They were produced in three mints (Krasnokamskij
-KMD, Moscow - MMD and Leningrad - LMD) and the Moscow factory
Platinopribor - MZPP. They came in many variations and sub-variations.
This award is made in the Leningradskij Monetnij Dvor (LMD)
in the second half of 1944 and appears in three number series/intervals
(101642-133957; 252272-337308 and this one 404306-482065). The
mint mark is below the screwpost. Made of silver, weighs 24.5g
and has a non-silver fastening plate (6.2g).
