Of
the Patriotic War 2nd Class | |
Orders
of the Great Patriotic War were instituted on 20 May 1942 and
until 16 June 1943 were on a suspension (type 1). Type two existed
from 1943 until 11 March 1985 when on the ocassion of the 40th
anniversary of the victory in the Great patriotic war Type 3
was issued. They were produced in three mints (Krasnokamskij
-KMD, Moscow - MMD and Leningrad - LMD) and the Moscow factory
Platinopribor - MZPP) in many variations and subvariations.
This award is very rare and made in the Krasnokamskoj Monetnij
Dvor (KMD) in 1943. So called starback reverse, mint mark at
12 o'clock (variation 2 had the mint mark below the screwpost)
and in this 2nd subvariation the serial number is at 6 o'clock
(subvariation 1 number was a 7 o'clock). Made of silver, weighs
23.1g and has an original silver attachment ring (8.3g). I have
several spare copies, with documents and without that someone
may be intersted in. See awards
for exchange page or contact me.
