Of
the Patriotic War 2nd Class | |
Orders
of the Great Patriotic War were instituted on 20 May 1942 and
until 16 June 1943 were on a suspension (type 1). Type two existed
from 1943 until 11 March 1985 when on the ocassion of the 40th
anniversary of the victory in the Great patriotic war Type 3
was issued. They were produced in three mints (Krasnokamskij
-KMD, Moscow - MMD and Leningrad - LMD) and the Moscow factory
Platinopribor - MZPP) in many variations and subvariations.
This award is very rare and is issued by the Moscow mint (MMD)
from February 1943. Variations 1-3 were made in the Krasnokamskoj
Monetnij Dvor (KMD) as were versions. This is variation 4, sub-variation
3 according to MONDVOR.RU (number range). It is rare but unfortunately
damaged with missing enamel on star and missing original nut
on reverse of hanger. Compared to version 1&2 it no longer
had an additional attachment pin soldered on the reverse.
