October
Revolution | |
Order of the October Revolution (Îðäåí «Îêòÿáðüñêîé Ðåâîëþöèè»
Orden Oktjabr'skoj Revolyutsii). Created for the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution, this order was awarded to individuals or groups for services furthering communism or the state or in enhancing the defences of the Soviet Union. 106,462 were awarded.
Solid
silver with golden hammer and sickle featuring the Cruiser Aurora
which gave the signal to storm the St. Petersburg Winter Palace
- the start of the Great October Revolution. Some 50.000
were issued between 31.10.1967 and 1974 when the construction
was altered with a fifth
joint pin added (see detail of reverse of the four pins
on this version). Awarded in 1971, its in very nice conditon
with a document (but I have some doubts of its authenticity).
I have several spare copies of this beautiful Order, some with
documents and others without, both types. See the awards
for exchange page or contact me!
