Type 1 Variant 3.2 R3
Of the Red Banner 1st Award

Order of the Red Banner (Îðäåí Êðañíîãî Çíàìåíè; Orden Krasnogo Znameni). The Order of the Red Banner recognised military deeds. Before the establishment of the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner functioned as the highest (and practically the only) military order of the USSR. Practically all well-known Soviet commanders became Cavaliers of the Order of the Red Banner. Also awarded to NKVD personnel. Some 581,300 were awarded with many types and variations, including screwbacks until 1943.

Slight damage on face due to heavy wear. Order no. 8191 (3rd variation, 2nd version, thus with smaller number field that exists in no range 308 – 19897). Only 20006 pieces were issued between 1932 and 1933. It is part of a documented group together with Order of Red Star (no. 1903530) and two Mongolian medals (30th Anniversary of Victory over Japan and the 40th Anniversary of Chalchin-Gole). See also Award Group 4.
