Order
of Glory 3rd class | |
While
most Orders of Glory show signs of heavy wear this one is
in mint condition, not very common. What is very strange is
its patina that is very regular and dark, not a trace of shiny
silver. It comes with a document and was apparently in a box
for decades, never worn or exposed to the elements (no. 736130).
Made of silver with red enamel and in this type has the clock
showing 9.00 also but the number on the reverse is engraved
with a rotating tool (earlier types were engraved by hand).
The earlier Type 2 also had 4 variations: variation 1 which
showed 11.52, variation 2 had an "empty clock",
variation 3 showed 9.05 and variation 4 showed 9.00. The later
Type 3 Var. 2 had on the reverse two concentric rings of same
thickness (nos. between 759058 and 810355).
