Red
Banner of Labour | |
One
of the earliest of Soviet Orders instituted on 7 September 1928
(awarded for exceptional service in scientific achievement,
public or government service). This is an early version of a
screw back instituted in 1935 with only 20.000 others like it.
It dates between 1938 and 1939 (MONDVOR no.4914) but the award
booklet (I was assured ) was re-issued in 1950 due to loss.
Later the Order became very common and due to mass production (about 1.2 million awarded)
many variations appeared (after 1943 on a five sided suspension).
Very intricate with still striking blue and red enamel, made
of silver with some gold plating still evident. In fair
condition with the flag slightly worn, An excellent specimen.
I have spare later suspension versions - see the awards
for exchange page!
