 No. 27

Very nice documented set (ncluding military card, pensioners card and card of veteran of WWII), from a now deceased veteran Sergeant Dzhuma Sharofutdinov born 1 September 1920 in the Suzackii raion (Kyrgystan). He was an Uzbek who lived in Jalalabad (southern Kyrgystan).

His military id card no. 1855282 issued on 9 May 1964 indicates that he was not a member of the Party, that he was a teacher, married, finished 10 classesin Samarkand and then completed his studies in the Jalalabad Pedagogic institute. He joined the army in 1940 and was demobilzed in 1946. He was not wounded and served in a communications unit. He earned a number of jubilee medals after the Great Patriotic War ended (thus he was not decorated during the war).

This medal group was donated to my collection by a friend of the deceased.

Top left to right: Order of the Great Patriot War 2nd degree, jubilee issue awarded on 11 March 1985 (no. 1577288); below it is a badge awarded to veterans of the war (without a document); 50, 40 and 30 years commemorating the victory in the Great Patriotic War. Lower left to right: 70, 50 and 60 years of Soviet military forces; post Soviet Medal of Zhukov issued by the Russian Federation (on 19 February 1996 with document no: 004899).
