Cross
for the Defence of Transdniestria |
|
This
is a very rare piece as it originates from the the self-proclaimed
Transdniestrian Moldovan Republic that remains a separatist
territory with all the trappings of a State, including award
ceremonies. It is evidently modeled on award Russian
traditions and has a suspension that is also found on the
Soviet era Medal for the Victory
Over Germany. The still unresolved (frozen) conflict has
generated the award of the Golden
Eagle on the other side of the dividing line. I
am yet to find out how many people received this medal and
for what.
