Badge for Defence
of Transdniestria | |
Established
by "Presidential decree" no. 75 on 17 June 1994 as
a "State award". This badge bears the tricolor of
the former Moldovan Socialist Republic (now the Transdniestrian
Moldovan republic) and depicts the statue of a mounted Suvorov
(the real one stands in the centre of Tiraspol the capital of
the separatist territory that proclaimed independence from the
Republic of Moldova in 1992).
It was awarded to a Sgt. (name withheld just in case he gets
in to trouble) by Decree of the "President" in 1994
and comes with a miniature award document complete with round
stamp of the Ministry of Defence and signature of Col. Tolstikov
(Commander of Unit). Source: State Awards of the Transdniestrian Moldovan Republic, Tiraspol 2004 (in Russain), pp.48-49.
