Quite
a rare piece awarded for saving a life and socialist property
during a fire (about 40000 issued since 31.10.1957).
It looks actually better on the reverse and some people chose
to wear it the other way around (see detailed jpg).
While you are at it note the line on the fireman's helmet
... probably a production fault! Until 1960 made of
silver and in the 80s of German
silver (copper, zinc and nickel). This version is
from silver alloy (plated with silver) and dates between the
60s - 80s.
