Hi,I have 2 items which were in a storage unit I purchased and I have no idea what they represent being they are printed in Russian. One is a series of 12 pins of different ships(goldtone&enamel)with a centerpiece. The other consists of 16 awards pins I think, with CCCR and various Russian words below. Is it possible to scan them to you to inform me as to what they represent?I believe them to be collectibles. Thanks for any help.

Hi Jerry, as explained in emails, quite ordinary badges commemorating Sovient northern merchant fleet...

I am desperately seeking an Order of Lenin (any type - document not necessary) to replace a copy I bought in Moscow many years ago before I knew anything about what I was buying. What is the least you could let one go for?

I also dream of owning a Friendship of Nations (again documentation not necessary) but again, my budget is limited so I would need you lowest priced one.

All of the medals I have duplicates of and would be willing to trade are not worth much (anniversary medals mostly).

I hope to hear from you soon,
Phillip

Philips the most ordinary Lenin without a document would be well over 2000 USD...

I really enjoy your we site!! I have learned much from you!!
I am an American who is living in the City of Kazan,in Tatarstan, and it has been my hobby to collect military things, and so you can imagine Kazan is a great place to collect medals and uniforms. Most of what I get I take it back to California and sell. There is a tremendous growing interest in Soviet artifacts in America also, but it is hard to find uniforms that people want to reinact.
Thank you again,I will continue to read you web site, and learn more. Ian

Thanks for the kind words...

Any plans to properly document Russian Federation Orders and Medals in the near future? To a westerner like me who is trying to collect them, accurate information is extremely hard to come by and I find myself buying unofficial pieces from the multitude of organizations giving them out. Maybe you can direct me somewhere? The official Russian government web site only lists a portion of what is currently out there... Thank you.

I've been a soviet medal collector for circa 15 years, albeit not so much recently.

Your award group #17 caught my interest, especially the
RB 5th award. It doesn't match Durov's type 4 var 1, which
he maintains was the only #5 produced.

Your example appears to be a type 5, not sure on the variant, but monetnyj dvor on two lines.

What's the story on this RB #5 type 5? Is it genuine?

My interest is more than academic, as I have four RB #5's,
2 of each type, 2 in groups, coincidentally, both pilots.
And one of the my single pieces reseaches to yet another
pilot.

I have looked on the internet for any information on this
RB #5 type, but no luck.

Any information you could provide would be appreciated.

Thanks
Stan Knipp

I have a medal which is identical to the irreproachable service in the armed forces of the USSR 20 years. Even the text on the back is the same. But the medal is a gold color, with a red star. I cant find it described anywhere. Have you ever heard of one of these?
