Hi! I noticed your Russian Federation section was a bit short on awards but not on questions from you about many of them. May I invite you to visit the official web site of OMSA? http://www.omsa.org/
Once there click on IMAGES, MEDAL IMAGES, scroll down to Europe East, then down again to Soviet Union and Russian Federation, then on Post-Soviet Russia and other Republics. There you will find over 900 researched (by me) modern Russian awards including Presidential decrees and ministerial orders. If you don't find a particular award there, chances are very high it is un official. I've been actively researching RF awards for years now.

I recently purchased two WWII era (I hope) medals on eBay. They are the Russian Order of the Red Banner Type 3, Var 4, #212,385 and the Russian Order of the Red Star Type 2, Var 3, Subvar 4, #193,749.
Do the numbers and medal types sync up? How can I find the approximate date of manufacture and awarding of specific orders and medals based upon their number, type, etc.?
This is a lot of questions, but if you could point me toward a reliable source of information I will take it from there. My sense is that fakes are rampant.
