Avers: image of Anton Rubinstein framed with a laurel wreath to the right side of the image and a circling inscription "À.Ã. ÐÓÁÈÍØÒÅÉÍ" (A.G. Rubinstein) above the image. To the left are the first notes of a musical composition "Áàðêàðîëà" (Barcarole). A circular inscription “1829 – 1894” (indicating life time of A. Rubinstein) is at the bottom.

Revers: image of the PMR State Emblem with a circular inscription in Cyrillic "ÏÐÈÄÍÅÑÒÐÎÂÑÊÈÉ ÐÅÑÏÓÁËÈÊÀÍÑÊÈÉ ÁÀÍÊ" (Trans-Dniestrian Republican Bank) along the edging and an inscription "100 ÐÓÁËÅÉ" (100 RUBLES) at the bottom. The mint year “2004“ is above the inscription “100 RUBLES”.

To the left of the image there is an unrolled parchment and upright standing writing crow-quill. An inscription “1912 - 1976” (indicating life time of the academician) is at the bottom of the coin.
